Major Andrew Craib

Major Andrew Craib

Married to Jenny for 25 years. Jenny is also a Salvation Army Officer (minister of religion) in The Salvation Army. We have three children, Rebekah (24) a Teacher, Rachel (22) Youth Support Worker, Benjamin (19) Barista & Bar attendant. They are also part of activities with The Salvation Army (remaining in South Australia).

For more than 28 years Major Andrew Craib has served the community as a Salvation Army officer. Working as a part of local communities across the country as a Corps Officer (church minister), he was responsible for ministry and support to members of the community through local worship & community centres. As part of his active roles he has provided chaplaincy in courts and prisons, offered emotional and practical support during times of emergency and disaster and sought to provide activities and services to groups within the community in need. The focus follows much of the establishment of The Salvation Army, to meet people at their point of need, often the most marginalised and disadvantaged within the community. This has included youth and children's programmes, adventure camps for disadvantaged children, the establishment and operating of community support services for people seeking welfare assistance.

In the last 14 years Andrew has spent nine of these being responsible for fundraising to support the work of The Salvation Army as well as seeking ways to communicate and engage with the broader community.

Andrew took up the role of Territorial Media Relations Director in Melbourne from mid January this year (2012).
