Dr Elise Bialylew has been working as a doctor for the past ten years and more recently is training in the field of Psychiatry. She has a strong interest in mindfulness meditation and has attended training and retreats with leading national and international teachers in the field including Jon Kabat Zin, Dr. Daniel Siegel, Saki Santorelli, Alan Wallace, Ekhart Tolle, and Gregory Kramer. She came to mindfulness meditation through her interest in better understanding human experience and as a way of developing skills to manage the demands of her own work.
She found that mindfulness practice had a transformative effect on her own life and supported her in better working with others.
She is the founder of Mindful in May, a campaign that supports people to explore the benefits of meditation whilst at the same time contributing directly to improving the lives of others living in poverty. She has travelled widely through Africa, Asia and the Americas, witnessing the devastating poverty that exists firsthand. Mindful in May is a campaign that brings together her passion for social justice, mindfulness meditation, connectedness, community and contribution.
