This is a wonderfully creative way to make someone happy with a home-made gift. Baked playdough scultpures can be used as bookends, paperweights, or just a fabulous little ornament!
We would love you to send us photos of your most magnificent creations - email us at help@1millionacts.com.au
To make the playdough, you'll need:
- 1 ½ cups of flour
- 1/3 cup of salt
- 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
- 1 ½ cups of water
- 1 ½ tablespoons of vegetable oil
- Food colouring (if desired, or you can paint it later)
Step 1. Mix try ingredients together in a stove-top pan, slowly adding the wet incredients
Step 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring until it thicks, for approximately 4-6 minutes, or until it is a solid, globby mass
Step 3. Sit to cool on wax paper for 3 minutes
Step 4. get sculpting! ( Note: If too sticky to work with, add a little more flour)
Step 5. Place your creation in the oven at lowheat for approximately 50 minutes. Keep a close eye out – if it dries to fast, it will crack
Please note – As play dough cooks, it does shrink. If you have dyed the dough, it will discolour slightly. Play dough sculptures are brittle and quite delicate, so be careful.
